Overview
For a young family relocating from Brooklyn, we worked alongside Stonebrook Builders to deliver a low-slung courtyard home with a skylit study tucked beneath the eaves. The project celebrates unfussy materials, generous thresholds, and a quiet, considered ease of living carried into a northeastern landscape.
Project Details
Tucked into the roofline, the study pairs two ridge skylights with a run of dark, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe joinery that hides storage, printer, and desk behind a single quiet face. A sculptural wool rug and a slim console soften the sloped ceiling, while pale oak flooring carries the material language down through the rest of the house. The planting scheme was seeded before construction finished, letting the meadow reclaim the site edges within a single season.
