We begin every project with what already exists — the site, the light, the way people will move through a space — and build from there with as few gestures as possible. Materials are chosen for how they weather, not how they photograph. Nothing is added that the design cannot justify, and nothing is finished until every junction, threshold, and surface agrees with the whole.
